During the blessed month of Ramadan 2026, the Muslim World League London Office continued its tradition of serving both the local community and vulnerable communities abroad. Through the generosity of mosque attendees and supporters, MWLLO organised a number of Ramadan initiatives, including the distribution of Fitrana and Iftar meals.
This year, MWLLO partnered with Rohingya Hope Initiative to deliver Fitrana assistance to Rohingya refugees living in camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The programme reached more than 3,000 families, helping them prepare for the arrival of Eid Al-Fitr with essential food support. For many families in the camps, even small assistance can make a meaningful difference during the festive days of Eid.
At a time when humanitarian conditions in the camps remain extremely difficult, this support is especially important. The World Food Programme has recently been forced to adjust food assistance in Cox’s Bazar, dividing households into categories based on levels of food insecurity. As a result, many refugees currently receive between $7 and $12 per person per month, an amount that leaves families struggling to meet even basic food needs.
The Fitrana distributed through this partnership helped ensure that many Rohingya families could welcome Eid with dignity. On the first day of Eid, children and parents alike celebrated with food on their tables, bringing moments of relief and joy after a difficult year.
